Fundraising
Fractured Atlas
Fractured Atlas is an artist’s run organization that provides fundraising and business management tools for artists and independent filmmakers, and tax deduction benefits to donors. All donations are tax-deductible, have no credit-card fees, and donations can be made either via check or online.
The General Support Fund is directed towards the capital project, Long Walks with Anzaldúa. The crowdfunding campaign will provide funds for HORSE.
The production of HORSE will act as both the starting point and a segment within the larger capital project, Long Walks with Anzaldúa. For this reason, initial funding will be directed to the production and post-production of HORSE. Any remaining funds will go to the pre-production, production, and post-production of Long Walks with Anzaldúa.

Funding So Far
Funding for the development of HORSE has largely come via in-kind donations, in addition to $15,000 from the 2021 Massachusetts Arts Council Artist Fellowship, and $1,000 in professional development training from the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts in partnership with MASS MoCA's Assets for Artists.
I am also a recipient of the non-monetary, Leslie Lohman Museum Artist Fellowship. This fellowship will provide important networks in the art/queer community and a venue to show the work.
As HORSE is released and shown, I hope to attract interest in the capital project, the feature Length film, Long Walks with Anzaldúa, and reach the ambitious fundraising goal for its production through grants and funders.
Fundraising Goals
This ambitious fundraising goal will allow for the production of the film, in addition to providing fair and standard wages to performers, primarily immigrants, Latinx, women, BIPOC and LGTBQ+ people, the production and post-production teams in Tijuana, Mexico.
Support for this project will also reaffirm my commitment to making work in the border region where I have made most of my work.
The funds will also allow me to redirect my practice towards team-based-*high-production-value-work, and allow Long Walks with Anzaldúa and HORSE to compete in renowned film festivals, and be available to audiences in educational settings, and commercial and independent venues.
*A high-production-value film meets high production standards and requires a team of highly trained people.
